Manchester City: NINE fingers on historic treble

Manchester City showed their class as they battered Real Madrid 4-0 to advance to the final of the Champions League.

Manchester City showed their class as they battered Real Madrid 4-0 to advance to the final of the Champions League.

It’s just one major trophy that is heading to the blue half of Manchester City.

They face Manchester United in the final of the FA Cup. And they have overtaken Arsenal in the Premier League.

They have the squad depth and form to land all three titles. They would replicate the 1999 treble winning team of arch rivals Manchester United.

Manchester City to tick the boxes

Champions League final against Inter Milan on 10 June.

FA Cup final against Manchester United on 3 June.

Remaining Premier League fixtures are Chelsea on 21 May, Brighton on 24 May and Brentford on 28 May. While City are away at Brighton and Brentford, a win over struggling Chelsea will see them lift the title.

Treble talk

Inter Milan are in-form but should be no match for City, who are in tremendous form and playing the best they have under Pep Guardiola.

Inter have risen to third in the Serie A and easily dealt with AC Milan in the Champions League semi-finals but Manchester City will be another prospect entirely.

 Manchester City are currently on a 11-game winning streak in the league.

City lost to 2-1 to United in January but a lot has changed. The Citizens are rampant and United are limping through to the end of the season in a whimper.

Before that defeat, City scored six and four goals against United in the previous derbies and it was 2-0 to City before that.

All in all with Erling Haaland scoring for fun and backed up by the likes of Jack Grealish and Kevin de Bruyne it’s hard to see Manchester City not winning the treble.
