Orlando Pirates are hard at work securing their plans for the new season and it definitely seems to include midfielder Kabelo Dlamini.

Pirates clinched two titles and finished as runners-up in the DStv Premiership which has them looking to bolster their squad for a tough act to follow.

Dlamini a key player

It appears likely that Dlamini will be part of the thinking. He was a big part of the team’s work in all competitions after starting 25 times in the league.

According to Soccer Laduma, Pirates have now moved to seal a new two-year contract for Dlamini as they’ve sought to avoid any risk of losing him for free on a pre-contract early next year.

“The player is believed to be very happy with the new deal and that’s why he agreed to sign,” a source commented.

The former Bloemfontein Celtic player is just 27 and now will be entering the prime of his career with the Bucs.

Dlamini has scored four goals in 72 appearances during his time at Pirates.

Winger Katlego Otladisa is almost certainly going to be an Orlando Pirates player when the new season kicks off.

As previously reported by The South African, Katlego Otladisa was a man in demand after Gallants were relegated.

Orlando Pirates were always thought to be at the front of the queue developing around the former Mamelodi Sundowns player.

SABC Sport now have Otladisa as a “done deal” for Pirates.

OTLADISA WILL COST PIRATES R5 MILLION

Following Gallants drop into the first division, it appears that R5 million will be enough to seal his return to the top flight. But it won’t be to Kaizer Chiefs following the comments from Kaizer Motaung Jr.

“Orlando Pirates, AmaZulu, Royal AM & Sekhukhune United are all chasing Katlego Otladisa from Marumo Gallants. Pirates are favourites, Give it a week & you’ll see which team he chooses.”

This is according to source Unplayable

Orlando Pirates expected to make a number of signings in the off season as they look to boost their squad for their run in the CAF Champions League next season.
