Kaizer Chiefs veteran goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune reveals what will calm frustrated and angry fans this season as they adjust under coach Molefi Ntseki.

Khune said winning trophies and maintaining their momentum will definitely calm Chiefs fans who are frustrated – reports Isolezwe.

“I know winning a trophy or two will wipe their tears and we also need to finish the season in a good position to qualify for the CAF Champions League,” Khune is quoted by Isolezwe.

“It’s better this season because there’s an extra trophy to fight for, the Carling Black Label Knockout Cup and this means there is a chance to wipe their tears – we just have to work hard as players.

“It’s not nice to hear that our fans can’t even go around freely because they have become a laughing stock from the fans or our rivals.

“We must understand and accept that Chiefs fans deserve at least one trophy but I promise we will turn things around – to restore their hope.”

Meanwhile, Amakhosi have a chance to lift the MTN8 title as they are in the semi-finals – they will face Mamelodi Sundowns next weekend.

Additionally, The South African reported that Ntseki has also urged the fans to understand the process and phase his team is going through.

“Firstly, we are in a process. Yet we are very quick to look at the end product,” Ntseki shared at Naturena on Thursday.

“But a process has its period and time frames. And when you look at what has been happening with the team since the start of the season, we are being tested.

“We are a new technical team, under my leadership that is. And we have played six new players in the few games we have played.”
