The Amakhosi net minder served as a benchwarmer in the better part of the 2022/23 season as Zwane preferred Brandon Petersen between the goalposts.

Just before the end of the previous campaign, media reports suggested that the 28-year-old gloveman had approached Chiefs management and informed them of his desire to leave at the end of the past term.

“News reaching the Siya crew is that after weighing up his options under the current prevailing circumstances, Bvuma has opted to request either a loan move elsewhere or seek a permanent move to where he can get regular game time,” Soccer-Laduma wrote at the time.

The speculation resulted from Bvuma’s lack of game time as he featured in four matches across all competitions as they finished fifth and failed to qualify for CAF tournaments.

Judging the most recent tweets, it seems the former Chiefs development player is set to remain at Naturena and fight for his place.

Bvuma was spotted this week wearing the new Kappa tracksuits with his teammates such as Petersen, Kgaogelo Sekgota, and Khama Billiat among others.

Looking at other transfer-related news, newly promoted Cape Town Spurs coach Shaun Bartlett has confirmed his ambitions and future plans.

The former Chiefs and Bafana striker said he would like to keep Orlando Pirates striker Boitumelo Radiopane and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Luvuyo Phewa.

Radiopane, 20, switched to the Urban Warriors, Spurs on a season-long loan deal while the 23-year-old Phewa, 23, arrived at the Mother City-based side in February on loan.

The duo helped Spurs as they narrowly missed out on automatic promotion last season before securing a top-flight status via PSL Promotion/Play-Offs.

“They have to go back to their clubs because their loan agreements end at the end of June, but we have already indicated that we would like to keep both Radiopane and Phewa,” said Bartlett via City Press.

“That conversation will obviously start between management and their clubs and see the possibility of them returning to us for next season.”
