Ex-Orlando Pirates fan favourite already set to be released by new club?

Former Orlando Pirates darling Thabo Rakhale could find himself clubless again, barely a week after joining new side Township Rollers.

Rakhale is thought to be set to return to topflight football, although in Botswana this time as he has been confirmed as a new Township Rollers player.

It had to take a team from beyond the borders of South Africa to take a leap of faith in Rakhale, that coming in the shape of Botswana giants Rollers. The side released a statement confirming the capture of the former Chippa United man.

This move represents a change of heart from Rakhale was recently reported to have initially turned down the opportunity to play for Rollers. But he may have got advice from some people close to him, whether in the game or outside the game and realised that he may not get another similar opportunity anywhere else.

But now, according to the latest development, the opportunity might not come after all, despite having already signed on the dotted line for Rollers. This could be due to the fact that the Botswana League is thought to be in the process of introducing strict rules when it comes to registering foreign players.

Rakhale heading out of Rollers aready?

“New rules set by Botswana Football Association state that a foreign player can only be registered if “he has 3 or more caps in any of the national teams”. Rakhale & Matete have no caps, while Sangweni played a couple of times for the U23s, which means Rollers won’t be able to register them”. According to Unplayable.
