ICYMI: European club still sniffing around Orlando Pirates superstar

Benni McCarthy with issues to address at Man United

Erik ten Hag’s team narrowly beat Wolves on the opening day, getting away with a late penalty shout for the visitors, and then they lost 2-0 at Tottenham.

United will have to improvise in midfield with news that new signing Mason Mount has been ruled out until the international break. New striker Rasmus Højlund could potentially make the bench against Forest after a back injury. Benni McCarthy has a puzzle to solve here to get the United attack firing again.

Premier League preview

The weekend kicks off with a new-look Chelsea side facing promoted Luton on Friday night. The highlights of Saturday include London derbies in the shape of Arsenal vs Fulham and Brentford vs Crystal Palace. The aforementioned Man United face Nottingham Forest, and the super impressive Brighton (eight goals and two wins from their first two matches) meet West Ham in the late kickoff. Everton vs Wolves already looks like a crucial clash at the foot of the table.

Bafana Bafana star Foster has another chance to impress

Burnley will be itching to get back on the pitch having played just once so far this season, a home defeat to champions Man City. Lyle Foster started that game and looked impressive, and he’ll be keen to start against when Aston Villa visit Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon. Sunday also sees arguably the match of the weekend with Newcastle facing Liverpool at fortress St James’ Park. The Reds were actually one of just two sides to win away to Newcastle last season, so they’ll travel with confidence.
