Manchester United drops to 13th after latest 3-1 defeat
The Seagulls ended Manchester United’s unbeaten home record in the Premier League. The Red Devils went 31 games unbeaten at home.

Manchester United suffered their third defeat of the season at home to Brighton and Hove albion on Saturday at Old Trafford.
The Seagulls ended United’s unbeaten home record in the Premier League that stretched all the way back to the beginning of last season when Erik ten Hag took over the Red Devils.

Danny Welbeck opened the scoring for Brighton and two more goals from ascal Gross and Joao Pedro put the visitors three in front. A late goal from Manchester United’s Hannibal gave the home side some hope but the Seagulls held on for a famous 3-1 win.
Manchester United beaten at home
Man United manager Erik ten Hag said his side had a good first half but failed to convert their chances.

“We are disappointed and I think it’s normal, especially when you have seen the game. Such head to head, such small margins. In the first half, we created a lot of chances but we didn’t score and they scored on their second attack, their first chance and we concede a goal. The first 20 minutes was very good. I think we had the chances, in the first half, I think we played very well but we didn’t score. We didn’t finish,” he said.

Manchester United are now 13th in the EPL table after five games and are already out of the title race with Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Arsenal all looking very strong. The team next face Bayern Munich in the Champions League mid-week.
“We have to fight back, stick together in this moment. It will pass away. It’s not coming but we have to work for it and we have to believe in it and then we will turn it [around]. We have to analyse this game, see where we have to improve and then we go to the next opponents. It’s a different competition, in Europe, we are looking forward but it is a great opportunity,” said the Manchester United coach.
