Will Sundowns lose defender Mudau to EPL side?

The latest information doing the rounds in Mzansi is that Mamelodi Sundowns defender Khuliso Mudau is being monitored by an EPL side, could Downs lose him?

According to a local football publication, Mudau has attracted the interest of the EPL side, Burnley and they are seriously impressed by his work rate.

Coached by Vincent Kompany, Burnley are said to be keeping tabs on the Sundowns and Bafana defender who has been consistent for coach Rulani Mokwena’s side.

WILL SUNDOWNS LOSE DEFENDER MUDAU TO EPL SIDE?

The Cape Town-based outlet, Soccer Laduma reports that the former Cape Town City skipper, Kompany likes Mudau and could open talks with Sundowns.

Mudau is currently the reigning DStv Premiership Defender of the Season following his stellar displays for Sundowns in the previous term.

“Khuliso Mudau is being monitored by Burnley in the Premier League. This is the player who has done very well in recent months and has been consistent,” a source tells Soccer Laduma.

“Vincent Kompany has shown interest in the player. Sailor Mudau was groomed properly and it’s not surprising to see him where he is now.

“Things are going well for him at Sundowns and he is getting the best coaching one can ask for and good guidance under Rulani and his technical team.

“He is also getting valuable experience from playing in Africa.”

HOW CAF FOOTBALL BENEFITS SUNDOWNS DEFENDER

The former Black Leopards star, Mudau is a regular at Sundowns as they campaigned in the CAF Champions League last season.

Sundowns exited the lucrative continental tournament without a defeat despite suffering a semi-final exit through an aggregate score.

Meanwhile, they are also through to the group stages of this season’s edition – and there’s no doubt he will be key for their second trophy.

In addition, Mudau has been in fine form for Sundowns as they reached the final of the inaugural African Football League – they will meet Wydad Casablanca in the second leg this Sunday in Tshwane.
