Pep Guardiola is known for his dapper appearance on the sideline, just as much as he is famous for his superior tactics that have seen his teams well ahead of the rest of the competition in every league he has graced.

The Manchester City manager has built squads that have been near unstoppable in their respective leagues, as well as a reputation as being a fashion icon, something he shares with his wife, Cristina Serra.

The couple got married in 2014, in a low-key event, after being together for over twenty years.

Cristina has shied away from the limelight, rarely giving interviews, and very little is known about her.

A mother of three

The Guardiolas met as teenagers, and have three children – Maria, Màrius, and Valentina Guardiola.

Fashion brought them together

It’s difficult to find a football manager more stylish than Pep, as far as football is concerned, and it’s fitting (pun defs not attended) that he met the love of his life at a clothing store…

It was at a popular shop owner by Serra’s family that the two met, as the Barcelona manager stopped by while modelling for Spanish designer Antonio Miro.

A style icon herself

Being surrounded by the latest fashion trends was bound to have some influence on Serra, and it sure did.

In her native Spain, she is known as a style icon, and definitely feels at home around the boutiques and upmarket clothing stores in Manchester.

Was expected to take the mantle from Posh Spice

The city of Manchester has had no bigger style icon than Victoria Beckham, and when the Guardiolas made it their home, they were expected to carry on from where Posh and Becks left off.

However, Cristina has opted for the quiet life, and is rarely seen out and about.

Survived the Manchester terror attacks

For Pep Guardiola, the devastating Manchester bombing hit quite close to home.

Cristina, along with their two daughters were at the Ariana Grande concert at the Manchester Arena, which was targeted by a suicide bomber in 2017.

Pep told BBC Radio;

“I was at home with my son, and wife and my daughters were there. At the end, we were lucky. Unfortunately, many people suffered.

“She called me, but immediately the line broke. She told me ‘something happened and we are running, I don’t know what happened,’ and the like broke.”
