Burnley were trailing 2-0 to Aston Villa but Foster pulled one back in scintillating style. Check it out:
Foster was industrious in his work against Pep Guardiola’s champions on the opening day of the campaign. He completed two tackles, made five ball recoveries and won five duels. He also completed 20 passes, the most out of any Burnley player on the night. In the final third, the 22-year-old produced arguably the Claret’s best attacking moment of the first half, beating a few men and curling his shot just wide of Ederson’s post. Foster is the 15th South African to play in the Premier League and the first since Percy Tau in 2021. Burnley and Foster must wait until 27 August for their next top-flight encounter, against Aston Villa.
