The South African previously reported that Castillo can also play as a number eight and he broke into the international scene for his country back in 2021.

Looking at the club level, Castillo brings vital experience to Naturena as he boasts more than 200 professional games next to his name and has played in countries such as Azerbaijan and Mexico.

Heading to South Africa, he will follow the likes of Jose Torrealba who also played for Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns and Jose Ali Meza.

“I’m very excited to start this new chapter in my football career with a club like @kcfcofficial,” he wrote on Instagram.

As clubs beef up their squad with two weeks to the start of the new season, legend Doctor Khumalo has advised Chiefs to look for more talent.

‘16V’ believes his former club should venture into the market and bolster their ranks as they look to compete for honours.

As things stand, Chiefs confirmed the arrivals of Tebogo Potsane, Given Msimango, Thatoyaone Ditlhokwe, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Castillo, Pule Mmodi and Ranga Chivaviro.

However, Khumalo feels the club still needs one or two players to help someone like Chivaviro settle into his new surroundings.

“Ranga is not enough. He is that type of player that I have described like Kingston Nkhatha and Marks Maponyane, that type,” Khumalo told iDiski Times.

“Now you need a type of player like Bernard Parker. Bernard Parker and Nomvete, that kind of a player that would say ‘listen, I’m in the final third there’s no one to help me I’m going to do it myself’.”
