Chiefs’ Kaizer Motaung inducted into SA Hall of Fame

Chiefs icon Kaizer Motaung was inducted into the South African Hall of Fame during a special event in Johannesburg on Thursday night.

At a glittering ceremony at Montecasino, a host of guests paid tribute to Motaung, who has made a huge impact on Chiefs as well as football and sport in general in South Africa. 

“The visionary founder and chair of the Kaizer Chiefs Football Club, Dr Motaung, has not only sculpted the present and future of football but has also left an indelible legacy that will inspire generations to come,” said chair of the South African Hall of Fame Johnny Burger.

Motaung joins esteemed company in the Hall of Fame

As part of the recommendation provided, the South African Hall of Fame reiterated its commendation for Motaung’s dual role as a world-class footballer and pioneering administrator and businessman. 

Previous inductees include the likes former President Nelson Mandela, the 1995 and 2007 Springbok Rugby World Cup winning teams and Archbishop Desmond Tutu among many others.
