Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena shares his thoughts on the tough clash against Al Ahly who boasts a ‘special kid’ Percy Tau.

Mokwena will lead Sundowns versus Ahly in the African Super League semi-final encounter on Sunday afternoon, he says the Red Devils have dangerous players.

Sundowns are fresh from a 2-0 aggregate win over Petro Luanda to set up a mouthwatering clash against the North African giants.

With Ahly boasting Tau, a former Sundowns striker in their ranks, Mokwena will plan to neutralise the Bafana Bafana star come Sunday afternoon.

MOKWENA: AHLY WILL BE TOUGH WITH ‘SPECIAL KID’ TAU

The 36-year-old mentor who recently reached 50 games since taking over Masandawana last season, is looking forward to pitting his wits against Tau, who has been in form in the Cairo-based outfit.

“An Al Ahly fixture is always interesting, it has a lot in it and it is two good teams,” says Mokwena as quoted by TimesLIVE.

“They have many good players and I watched their [quarterfinal first leg] away to Simba in Tanzania, which ended 2-2.

“Of course, you know that they have a very special kid who I love so dearly [Tau] and I am excited to see.

“It should be a very interesting game and the one that pitches two good teams together and we will do our best to try to win.”

Having already secured a staggering R32 million for reaching the semi-finals, Sundowns will look to reach the final but Ahly are always a tough nut to crack.

SUNDOWNS COACH PRAYS FOR MORENA & SHALULILE’S RETURN FOR AHLY

As The South African reported, Mokwena is on his knees praying to have his players such as Peter Shalulile and Thapelo Morena available for the Ahly clash.

“I hope they will be back soon — I am on my knees, I bow my head every night and I pray and ask God to perform the miracles that he’s performed in the Bible,” he adds.

“We have seen Jesus Christ turn water into wine, we have seen Moses cross the Red Sea.
