Kaizer Chiefs management has a tough decision to make on the 10 players whose contracts expire on Wednesday, 30 June.

Bruce Bvuma, Itumeleng Khune, Lebogang Manyama, Kgotso Moleko, Willard Katsande, Bernard Parker, Khama Billiat, Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Philani Zulu and Brylon Petersen are all in the final days of their contracts.

And all the players are registered for the CAF Champions League except Petersen who has been more of an understudy to Khune, Akpeyi and Bvuma.

Now, with the final of the CAF Champions League against Al Ahly scheduled for 17 July in Casablanca, Chiefs have to decide the fate of the 10 players.

It is also worth mentioning that all nine players have played a pivotal role in Chiefs reaching their first ever CAF Champions League final.

Assistant coach Arthur Zwane admitted after their match against Wydad Casablanca on Saturday that Chiefs had not thought that far in terms of the expiring contracts.

However, he admitted the management will deal with the issues of contracts when the time is right.

“To be quite honest, we didn’t discuss that, the focus was more on this semi-final. So, the management will deal with that when the time is right,” Zwane told reporters.

“So, now it’s about going back to the drawing board, and planning thoroughly for the final.

Obviously, that will be part of the planning, in terms of the players’ contracts that are about to expire,” added Zwane.
