BUCCANEERS WANT MORE WIDTH

24-year-old Sekhukhune winger Elias Mokwana has shone this term with four goals and three assists in 15 league appearances. He’s been rewarded with a call-up to the aforementioned squad. Mokwana arrived at Babina Noko from Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit Platinum City Rovers in 2022. He was also on the Afcon standby list. According to The Citizen, Mokwana has always admired Kaizer Chiefs but has admitted to having a soft spot for Soweto rivals Pirates. We might get a chance to see Mokwana in a Bafana jersey soon.

KAIZER CHIEFS SINGING FROM A DIFFERENT HYMN SHEET?

Another Bafana attacker has been in the news lately. Chiefs sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jnr has made no secret of his admiration for 25-year-old Khanyisa Mayo after going public with his interest on national radio. Talks between Chiefs and Cape Town City reportedly took place but City chairman John Comitis dug his heels in, insisting the talented attacker isn’t for sale right now. However, according to Soccer-Laduma, Chiefs aren’t ready to give up their pursuit.
