Bafana Bafana captain and keeper Ronwen Williams beat Nigeria’s Stanley Nwabali to win the Afcon Golden Glove.

Ronwen Williams was named the best goalkeeper at the 2023 African Cup of Nations(Afcon) which concluded on Sunday evening.
Ivory Coast defeated Nigeria 2-1 to be crowned the new Afcon champions.

Williams was Bafana’s best player at the Afcon making crutial saves to helped Bafana Bafana reach the semi-finals of the competition for the first time in 24 years.
The Mamelodi Sundowns star inspired his nation to the semi-finals of the tournament after producing four saves against Cape Verde in a shootout last week.
On Saturday, he also made a penalty save to help Bafana finish third at the Afcon
Williams beat Nigeria’s Stanley Nwabali to win the Golden Glove .

The Bafana captain only conceded three goals at the tournament.

Williams has kept five cleansheet at the Afcon and made crucial saves to keep Bafana in the tournament. His contributions throughout the competition solidified his status as a key figure for South Africa.
“A savior for South Africa when needed. Ronwen Williams deservedly wins Ecobank Best Goalkeeper with a remarkable presence,” CAF wrote.
