Orlando Pirates star Zakhele Lepasa will play no part in Tuesday’s friendly international against the Ivory Coast due to a knee injury.

The South African national team have landed in Abijan, Côte d’Ivoire, without Lepasa who left their camp hours before the flight!

Lepasa, alongside Lyle Foster, has been one of Hugo Broos’ preferred strikers during recent months.

Broos’ side face Ivory Coast on Tuesday night at the Stade Félix Houphouët Boign at 21:00 SAST

Why Orlando Pirates star left camp

“Lepasa is struggling with a left knee overuse injury, which could have been exacerbated again, by the recent games and also training.” – Bafana team doctor Thabo Maleka said as quoted by IdiskiTimes.

“And on the eve of travelling, the injury became worse and therefore necessitated that he does get some investigation to actually find the degree or severity of injury in order to inform treatment.”

Williams becomes a dad – Broos

“I want to make a happy announcement, Ronwen became yesterday a father of a beautiful girl,” Bafana coach Hugo Broos said as quoted by IdiskiTimes.

“We congratulate him and his girlfriend. I saw a very happy papa this morning any breakfast, so we were all happy for him. She’s is really, really beautiful. I saw a photograph of her, he did really well, Ronwen.”

In other news, Orlando Pirates legend Jomo Sono has heaped praise on Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rhulani Mokwena.

Mokwena’s side have successfully qualified for yet another CAF Champions League group stage round.

Mokwena’s side are also running away with the DStv Premiership title, after an incredible 100% start to the campaign with eight wins in as many matches.

“I think the difference with him is [that] he’s passionate about football, he’s passionate about coaching.” the Orlando Pirates and Bafana icon said as quoted by SABC SPORT.

“He works so hard, I think he works 24 hours that guy, I don’t think he sleeps. I don’t think he’s got a bed, I think his bed is a laptop. He just wants to look at football, new tactics, and blah, blah, blah. You can see the signs of hard work.”
