Africa will come to a standstill this evening when Bafana Bafana and Nigeria meet in the Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals.

South Africa earned a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Cape Verde to book their spot in the last four.

Nigeria, on the other hand, earned a narrow 1-0 victory in their last eight clash thanks to an Ademola Lookman goal.

Semi-final two will see hosts Ivory Coast face DR Congo on the same day at 22:00. The final takes place on Saturday, 10 February 2024.

Bafana vs Nigeria: What time is kick-off?

Action is scheduled to get under way at 19:00 SAST. The match between Bafana and Nigeria will be televised live on SuperSport PSL as well as SABC1.

We don’t fear Nigeria – Broos

“It is a similar situation as last week against Morocco. They are also a very good team with players who are playing in Europe for big teams,” Bafana head coach Hugo Broos told Sowetan.

“So, I think for many people, Nigeria will be the favourite to win that game. But as you know in football, it is not always the favourites who win. I think we’re confident and motivated to try that South Africa, after more than 20 years, are in the final.

“We don’t fear them. We know they have good players. We’ll try to do something. We know that their defence is good, but those are things that were said about Morocco also, and Bafana won. Those are statistics we have to take care of, but it doesn’t make us fear the opponents.”
