Bafana bafana head coach Molefi Ntseki has named his starting lineup to face Sudan in today’s crunch AFCON Qualifier.

There’ll be no room for error when South Africa face Sudan at the Al-Hilal Stadium this afternoon. The equation is simple, if Molefi Ntseki’s side lose they will miss out on qualification for the upcoming AFCON in Cameroon.

Bafana are without the services of Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Andile Jali who picked up a knee injury against Ghana on Wednesday evening in Johannesburg.

Another notable absentee is that of Bongani Zungu who was due to meet the team in Sudan however Rangers decided against releasing him. Take a look at the lineup Ntseki has opted to field this evening

Bafana starting lineup for Sudan clash

Ronwen Williams, Thulani Hlatshwayo, Innocent Maela, Siyanda Xulu, Thabang Monare, Ben Motshwari, Thapelo Morena, Themba Zwane, Lebohang Maboe, Luther Singh, Percy Tau.

Subs: Itumeleng Khune, Sfiso Hlanti, Craig Martin, Thabiso Kutumela, Thibang Phete, Sipho Mbule, Ruzaigh Gamildien, Thabo Nodada, Mothobi Mvala, Mosa Lebusa, Vincent Pule, Lyle Foster.

We ready to weather the storm – Ntseki

“I might not be the best philosopher but they always say if you are faced with a storm, you can’t turn and take the direction of the storm. At times you need to be very strong so that the storm will be over,” – Bafana head coach Molefi Ntseki said.

“I think with all the challenges that came in since I took over, the xenophobia, Covid-19 and players that have been denied permission to join us for camp, it has made us very strong. It has made the whole team believe in each and everyone.

“If things continue like this, it means we are going to qualify for Afcon finals. The qualification will be a big celebration for all of us. The players and everyone want to better the position that Bafana had in the last Afcon in Egypt.”
