Bafana Bafana legend Macbeth Sibaya joins KZN Football Academy

Former Bafana Bafana and Moroka Swallows midfielder Macbeth Sibaya has bagged his first coaching gig with the KwaZulu-Natal Football Academy.

Former Bafana Bafana and Moroka Swallows midfielder Macbeth Sibaya has bagged his first coaching gig with the KwaZulu-Natal Football Academy.

According to the Academy, Sibaya has been roped in as head coach of the U19 side.

Sibaya is a household name in South Africa having represented the country at the 2002 FIFA World Cup finals.

“KZN Football Academy is proud to announce and welcome Macbeth Sibaya as the KZN Football Academy u19 head coach, a stalwart for the national team, was part of the 2002 and 2010 FIFA World Cup squads and featured an impressive 62 times for Bafana Bafana,” reads the Academy’s statement.

Sibaya, 43, made a name for himself abroad, playing in countries such as the Hungary, Norway and Russia before returning to the PSL to join Swallows.

Upon retiring, Sibaya was appointed head coach of the SuperSport United MDC team for the 2015-16 season.

However, he resigned as he wanted to concentrate on his coaching badges.

Sibaya, who also did Television work, is studying towards acquiring his UEFA coaching qualifications in Germany.
