The South African Football Association (SAFA) has revealed contract details of the newly appointed Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos.

The South African Football Association (SAFA) has revealed contract details of the newly appointed Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos.

According to SAFA CEO Tebogo Motlanthe, the NEC resolved to give Broos a five-year deal.

However, Motlanthe hinted that here will be a performance clause in Broos’ contract, saying they review the performance of the coach from time to time.

“The NEC resolved this morning (Wednesday) that the coach should be given five years because we want to build the team with him,” said Motlanthe.

“However, we will do a performance review of the coach which is something we didn’t do in the past,” added Motlanthe.

Furthermore, Motlanthe confirmed that Broos will be in the country on Monday, 10 May 2021 to start his new job.

Motlanthe said the assurance they got from Broos was that he’s available to start immediately which is one of the reasons they chose him to lead the team.

Broos will be expected to help Bafana Bafana qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Bafana Bafana are in the same group as Zimbabwe, Ghana and Ethiopia for the qualifiers.
