Bulls coach Jake White will bring Marcell Coetzee straight into the Bulls matchday team following his return from a stint in Japan.

And that’s not the best news for the injury-hit Stormers. The Bulls face the defending champions of the United Rugby Championship in the quarter-finals at DHL Stadium on Saturday, 6 May.

It’s the rematch of the Grand Final from the first season of the URC where the Stormers edged the Bulls, who beat Leinster to reach the finale.

White delighted by Coetzee return

Bulls boss Jake White is delighted to have Coetzee back. And he says he would be stupid not to use him.

“Marcell will definitely be back on Monday and we’ll assess him. I’ve no doubt that he is fit because when you play in Japan you run a lot,” White told the media.

“And he is important to us; you see when you read the articles about what Deon Fourie means to the Stormers and their results lately without him.

“It would be stupid of me not to use Marcell next weekend in any form, whether he comes in as a starter, whether he comes in on the bench, whether he is in as captain.

“All that will depend on how we go this weekend and going into next weekend,” added White.
