Varsity Cup semi-finals: Who plays who – and when and where!

The 2023 edition of the Varsity Cup has reached its semi-final stage with two mouth-watering matches set to take place next week.

In Monday, 10 April’s first semi-final, UFS Shimlas will host UCT Ikeys at Shimla Park in Bloemfontein at 17:00.

The second semi-final will see table-toppers NWU Eagles take on Maties at the Fanie du Toit Sports Ground in Potchefstroom at 19:00.

For interest’s sake, UCT Ikeys beat UFS Shimlas in the group stage 29-12, but that match was held at the Green Mile in Cape Town.

Maties, who have looked woeful at times this Varsity Cup, will draw some inspiration from the fact they beat NWU Eagles 31-28 in Potchefstroom earlier in the tournament.
