The United Rugby Championship (URC) returns with the Six Nations taking a break with the South African teams engaged in a derby round.

The action starts on Friday night when Scarlets face Munster and Zebre host Edinburgh. 

Those matches both kick off at 21:35 on Friday 16 February.

Derby day

Saturday will see the South African teams face off with the Bulls and Lions getting the ball rolling at Ellis Park at 15:00.

The Lions lost their previous clash with the Bulls after a dramatic finale which saw them miss a late penalty that would have won them the match.

After that pulsating fixture a few weeks back this could be the match to watch this weekend.

Leinster also host Benetton in Dublin later in the day while the Sharks take on the Stormers at Kings Park from 17:05.

Playoff race hots up in URC

Cardiff can leapfrog their opponents Connacht and get themselves back in the playoff hunt when they battle the Irish side from 19:05.

High-flying Glasgow Warriors will be out to slay the Dragons and cement their place in the top four.

Ospreys and Ulster will tackle each other on Sunday as the weekend’s action rolls to a close.
