Saturday 23 March belongs to the South African franchises in the United Rugby Championship (URC).

The four teams are all in action against foreign opposition this weekend and all on Saturday.

None of the matches should have any overlap so rugby fans could cram in the four games in a row.

SuperSport Grandstand and SuperSport Rugby will have you covered for the broadcast of these matches.

Sharks start off URC super Saturday

The Sharks playoff hopes are in tatters but they can do their countrymen some favours by taking points off of Ulster in Durban.

The match between the Sharks and Ulster is slated for a 15:00 kick-off.

Ulster have beaten the Sharks in both their previous URC meetings, once in Belfast and once in Durban but by slender margins.

Stormers target a turnaround against Edinburgh

The Stormers can get themselves back in the hunt for a home quarterfinal if they can knock off fourth-placed Edinburgh in Cape Town.

This match kicks off at 17:05 at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town.

Edinburgh have failed to beat the Stormers in three meetings, sharing a draw in their first meetings before a pair of losses in 2022.

Lions on the road on URC Super Saturday

The Lions will hope to keep their promising form going on the road as they are in Galway to face Connacht.

This match will kick off at 19:15 at the Dexcom Stadium.

The Lions have not beaten Connacht before and the Irish province head into this match having won three straight.

Bulls in the Dragon’s den

The Bulls will be targeting a road win to cement their place in the top four when they take on the Dragons in Newport.

This match is scheduled to kick off at 21:35 from the Rodney Parade.

The Bulls won 29-14 on their last visit to Rodney Parade and would be delighted to take five points from this clash.

Bulls Director of Rugby Jake White wasn’t taking anything for granted. Especially in Wales.

“We lost to the Scarlets last year when we were expecting to win, so there is a lesson we would take out of that as well. To be fair, teams that people always expect to do badly seem to do better in any case,” he said.

“Look at Benetton this year, teams would have looked at the fixture list and thought that is one game they could target. And they lost. The Stormers went on a four game tour to Europe and lost all four games. That’s a team that played in two finals, won one, and lost one narrowly.

“That’s what has happened in the URC, there is no game where you can just arrive and think you can just win.”
