Here are all the details to note as the Springboks’ Chasing the Sun 2 documentary airs its first episode this Sunday.

Calling all Springbok fans in South Africa… On Sunday, the first episode of the highly anticipated Chasing the Sun 2 will be aired, shining a light on the team’s successful journey through the 2023 World Cup.

Notably, it’s been confirmed that the first episode will feature in this weekend’s Sunday night 8pm slot on M-Net (DStv Channel 101), traditionally reserved for blockbuster movies. 

The five-part documentary series, which premieres on 24 March 2024 on M-Net and SuperSport Grandstand – channel 201 – is to set to provide unique insight into the Springboks’ World Cup triumph.

Springboks’ Chasing the Sun 2 is sure to be a massive hit with fans

Never-before-seen footage will be aired, while a host of exclusive interviews will undoubtedly offer highly compelling viewing.

Multi-faceted documentary

This expansive project was filmed across multiple countries including New Zealand, Australia, Argentina, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, and extensively throughout South Africa, detailing the Springboks’ global journey.

Chasing the Sun 2 is a co-production between SuperSport and SA Rugby, and will be available exclusively on DStv Premium.

With over 56 shoot days, interviews with more than 30 players and coaches, insights from pundits and media figures, and combining over 60 hours of interview footage with 30-plus hours of match footage, this is sure to be a viewing spectacle for all South Africans.
