The Springboks have sent passionate messages of support to Dricus du Plessis ahead of his UFC middleweight title fight against the USA’s Sean Strickland.

Several Springboks have thrown their support behind South Africa’s UFC fighter Dricus du Plessis, who’ll battle it out for the middleweight title in two weeks’ time.

As per a previous report by TheSouthAfrican, MMA star Dricus du Plessis has been installed the underdog for his middleweight title fight at UFC 297 in January 2024.
Du Plessis, who will turn 30 the week prior to entering the octagon, will take on American title holder Sean Strickland in Toronto, Canada on Saturday, 20 January. And the Du Plessis-Strickland fight will headline the card.
Leading South African bookmaker Hollywoodbets have installed Strickland as a 73/100 favourite, with Du Plessis at an attractive-looking 12/10.

SPRINGBOKS BACK THEIR BOYTJIE DRICUS
Dricus du Plessis is a staunch Springboks supporter and attend several of the South Africa’s World Cup playoff matches, including the final against the All Blacks.
Video clips of Du Plessis wildly celebrating the Springboks’ title triumph in the stadium went viral at the time.
And now the roles are reversed. Dricus du Plessis is set to fight the most important battle of his career on 20 January and the Springboks are already throwing their support behind their homeboy and urging their fellow South Africans to do the same.
In the videos below, Springboks Willie le Roux, Ox Nche and Jesse Kriel all sent messages of support to Dricus du Plessis.
