Jacques Nienaber left the Springboks at the end of their successful Rugby World Cup to join Leinster.

Meanwhile, Felix Jones joined England which has resulted in the need for some key technical staff changes to be made by Rassie.

Nienaber doubled-up as the head coach and defense coach.

Furthermore, Jones was also a defence coach.

Therefore, it is key that Rassie and SA Rugby look to men who can fill their boots as they enter into 2024.

Brown has a rich history within SA Rugby having played for the Sharks and Stormers.

The former All Blacks and Highlanders flyhallf is known for his flair and creativity in attack. Both as a player and a coach. Moreover, he recently worked with Japan. During his time the Brave Blossoms became one of the most dynamic and entertaining sides in world rugby.

Imagine what he could do with the likes of Cheslin Kolbe, Kurt-lee Arendse, Damien Willemse, Handre Pollard, Marie Lubbock, Grant Williams and Canan Moodie. This is a scary prospect for opposition defenders.

WORLD CLASS DEFENCE

The Springboks defense played an instrumental role in both of their recent Rugby World Cup triumphs. Who could forget the Boks legendary and iconic defense on their try line against England in the 2019 Rugby World Cup final.

SA defended their try line in resolute and heroic fashion, one big hit after the other, putting their bodies on the line for each other and for the country. For over five minutes the whole English pack could threw everything at the Boks, five meters out and could not bridge the line, with everything to play for.

More recently, the Boks did not concede a single point in the final 20 minutes of the Rugby World Cup final against NZ despite a flurry of late attacks. They also held onto a late attack from a firing French team in front of over 80 000 people in the quarter-final. Defense wins trophies and the Boks epitomize this expression to the core.

Now, they want to bring in former Irish hooker Jerry Flannery, a man that Rassie worked with at Munster. He is currently the defense coach at Harlequins and if Rassie rates him highly, we have no reason to doubt him.
