HUGE STORY: ELTON JANTJIES TAKES BREAK FROM RUGBY, TAKES UP BOXING!

Nienaber and Rassie have opted for continuity with the return of Kolbe highlighting the most powerful Bok team of the year so far to take on the world.

Kolbe comes in as the only major change while Damian Willemse returns form injury to fill the flyhalf birth which he made his own throughout the year. Siya Kolisi will lead out what is the strongest Bok side, on paper at least, this year.

This is one of the most exciting Bok backlines seen in years. An attacking flyhalf in Willemse who can step on either foot, an extremely attacking, pacey and skilled fullback and two very dangerous wingers in Makazole Mapimpi and Kurt-Lee Arendse.

The usual forwards will pack up in what will be a ferocious battle upfront against a very physically imposing Irish side.

This is a huge game for the Springboks in the context of the Rugby World Rankings, their year and momentum heading into the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France.

They had a decent Rugby Championship but fell short at the final hurdle, narrowly missing out on points difference to the eventual champions, The All Blacks. Therefore, the November end-of-year tour is crucial in determining the overall Boks season – big wins over Ireland and France will mean a brilliant year for the Boks while a couple of losses will mean an average one.

Furthermore, a win in Dublin on Sarturday could see the Boks return to number 1 in the World. However, a couple of losses could see the Boks drop as low as FOURTH! This tour marks the return of Rassie and it is vital that he and Nienaber gain momentum heading into the World Cup in France next year.

What better way to do this than to face the French in France (12 November) and to open up a tour against the world’s best side in Ireland. The Springboks then take on Italy (19 November0 before closing off the year against their nemesis, England (26 November).
