Serfontein, who has made up over 100 appearances for the French giants since moving there from the Bulls in 2017, was one of several overseas-based players targeted by Jake White to strengthen the Pretoria side’s ranks ahead of next season.

But French media publication Midi Olympique has now reported that Serfontein has agreed to a contact extension with his current club and has already signed the deal which will see him stay at the Top 14 club for another season with a possible second year.

It is understood that the Bulls are also hoping to bring double World Cup-winning Springbok prop Trevor Nyakane back to Loftus from Racing 92, as well as Glasgow Warriors lock Sintu Manjezi.
