Eben Etzebeth makes World Rugby Player of the Year shortlist

Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth is one of four Test players who’ve been nominated to the prestigious World Rugby Player of the Year award.

World Rugby revealed the four nominees in line to scoop the greatest individual award in rugby union and Springbok enforcer Eben Etzebeth has made the cut.

Etzebeth, has was named in the Springboks’ starting lineup for Saturday’s Rugby World Cup final, has been in superb form for South Africa throughout the year and his consistency has been rewarded with a nomination in the category for best Test player of the year.

He will compete with All Blacks flank Ardie Savea, France scrumhalf Antoine Dupont and Ireland centre Dundee Aki for the award..
