Teammate Eben Etzebeth commented: ‘Sorry I just can’t stop saying it’

And to make it worse, his wife Rachel Kolisi shared a story that showed even more.

She wrote, “Missing you” followed by a teary-eyed and heart emoji. He reposted the story and asked, “Is this what we are doing?”

Under the knife

SA Rugby released a statement but there was precious little information regarding the surgery to fix the injured knee of Siya Kolisi.

The Springbok captain went under the knife and the news from the team doctor is that … there is no news.

Springbok team doctor Jerome Mampane and his medical team will continue to monitor his recovery and rehabilitation.

Mampane said it was too early to make any reliable forecasts on when Kolisi may be able to return to play.

Springbok coach Jacques Nienaber added: “We wish Siya well during his recovery and we know that he will do everything possible to return to play soon as possible.”

Kolisi limped off during his side’s 22-22 draw against Munster in a recent United Rugby Championship match.

RACING 92 TO HALT KOLISI’S CAREER?

A report has suggested that Siya Kolisi will not play for the Springboks after the World Cup in France later this year.

The news comes on the back of Kolisi and the surgery that has his World Cup bid in an anxious waiting period.

While the Springboks aren’t in action until July, the team’s captain has a bleak future in national colours post 2023 according to Sunday newspaper Rapport.

They have a run a story that suggest Racing 92 have a clause that prevents the flanker from playing for the Springboks during the club season.

The 31-year-old loose forward is set to join Racing 92 after World Cup title defence.
