Cape Town will hosts the second tournament of the HSBC Sevens Series season on the weekend of 9 and 10 December and these are the seven most importing things you need to know about the event.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION FOR FANS ATTENDING THE EVENT

1. The festival starts when the gates open from 8am, with the rugby kicking off at 9am. The gates will close shortly after the final match of the day, so you can continue the party into the evening.

2. HSBC SVNS CPT is a mobile ticket only event. Before you arrive ensure that you download the Ticketmaster App (via the App Store or Google Play Store) to access and download your tickets directly on your phone. For easy entry, please do so before you arrive at the venue, and don’t forget to bring a valid Photo ID to show at the gates.

3. There’s no parking at DHL Stadium, but you can make use of various other modes of transport, as listed below.

  • Walk: You can easily get to the DHL Stadium from the Cape Town CBD by walking along the Fan Walk.
  • Free Shuttle: A free MyCiTi shuttle bus is available for all ticket holders and will run every 15 minutes on 9 and 10 December. Pick up is from Cape Town Civic Centre and drop off at nearby Stadium bus stop. For early birds, the first bus will depart Cape Town Civic Centre at 7:30am, with the final bus for the late night revellers leaving the stadium at 11pm.
  • Car: There will be road closures in place around the stadium through out the HSBC SVNS Cape Town weekend. There is no parking at DHL Stadium. A full list of on and off-street parking locations can be found in our FAQs.
  • Taxi: There are dedicated Uber and E-hailing drop-and-go areas on Helen Suzman Boulevard. However due to road closures around the Stadium we’d advise being dropped off and collected by Uber or E-hailing services in the CBD and using the free MyCiTi shuttle or Fan Walk to complete your journey to the event.

4. You’re not allowed to leave and re-enter the stadium as no re-admittance is permitted. Everything you need for the day is within the Cape Town Stadium grounds, we’ve got food, drink, fantastic entertainment and, most of all, heart stopping rugby action. Entry to and from the stadium bowl is permitted throughout the day so you’re free to enjoy everything that the Podium has to offer. It is only the stadium grounds where no re-admittance is permitted.

5. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Babies in arms are not permitted, and it’s not advised under 5 years old attend the event.

6. No food or drink may be brought into the venue and will be confiscated by stadium security at the entrance. All ticket holders are subject to security searches, if required.

7. Prohibited items are included with your Ticketing Terms and Conditions. A full list of prohibited items for DHL Stadium can be found here.
