The live World Rugby rankings show that the Springboks are now in third position following their defeat against Ireland on Saturday night.

The live World Rugby rankings show that the Springboks are now in third position following their agonising defeat against Ireland on Saturday night.

Ireland retained their No 1 ranking, increasing their points by 1.97 after their hard-fought 13-8 win at the Stade de France in Paris.

Ireland now have 93.79 points.

Rugby World Cup 2023 hosts France are now in second place on 90.59, with the Springboks slipping by 1.97 points to 89.70.

France picked up no points for their most recent 96-0 drubbing of Namibia.

New Zealand are fourth, followed by Scotland, England, Wales and Fiji.
