The 2023 Rugby World Cup started this past weekend, and fans got to see some fantastic rugby. Certain players managed to rack up some impressive stats. Here are the top stats leaders for the World Cup after the first round:
The most tries scored by a player this weekend was two. Ireland centre Aki was the most impressive of the double scorers as he helped Ireland smash Romania 82-8. Special mention needs to go to Mark Telea for his tries in the opener vs France.

It comes as no shock that Ireland boasts two of the top five conversion kickers on the list, given their dominant performance against Romania. Additionally, Italy’s Tomaso Allan, who happens to be the nephew of former Springbok John Allan, was on target with numerous conversions after Italy’s comprehensive victory over Namibia.

Bundee Aki was an absolute force for Ireland this weekend. When center Robbie Henshaw had to step out, Aki stepped up and played the entire 80 minutes, causing havoc for the Romanian team.

In the last match of round 1, Wales had a real nail-biter as they narrowly managed to get the better of an electrifying Fijian team. It’s worth noting that three of the top 5 tacklers in this round were wearing the red jersey, and all of them collectively made a whopping 20 or more tackles.
