WATCH: Kurt-Lee Arendse sinks toothless Wallabies at Loftus

Arendse was a star as Springboks started 2023 with a bang by humiliating the Wallabies 43-12 at the Loftus Versfeld on Saturday evening.

Springbok winger Kurt-Lee Arendse scored a hat-trick of tries to give the Boks a 43-12 win over Australia at the Loftus Versfeld on Saturday evening.

The Wallabies started the match brightly and scored their first try through Marika Koroibete inside 10 minutes. Reece Hodge missed the conversion which then allowed the home side back into the game.

The Boks recover well and enjoy a sustained period of attack which forced mistakes from the Australian defence. Around the 12th minute, Springboks were awarded a penalty and Manie Libbok made no mistake to make it 5-3 in the early stages of the match.

The home team then took the lead through Arendse after Canan Moodie made the break down the right. A few minutes later, the Loftus crowd were on their feet after a brilliant try from the Blue Bulls wing.

Arendse rips through Aussie defence

It was a brilliant worked move off the lineout caught the Wallabies napping allowing Marco van Staden to combine with Bongi Mbonambi, who then made a pass for Arendse to finish to extend Boks’ lead.

Going into half-time, the Springboks were in control of the match, with a 17-5 lead.

Arendse then completed his hat-trick 10 minutes into the second-half to extend the Boks’ lead by 17.

The Boks showed their dominance throughout the second half and ultimately won the match 43-12.
