The Johannesburg-based union posted a social media message on Tuesday thanking the soon-to-be 28-year-old for “the memories” and “wishing him all the best for the future”.

The Lions didn’t make it clear whether Orie turned down a new offer or wasn’t offered one.

Orie joined the Lions from their Jukskei rivals, the Bulls, in 2017.

It’s unclear at this stage where Orie will be heading.

Marvin Orie has played three Tests for the Springboks and has been an integral part of the Lions’ success in recent seasons.
