The Sharks have named their team for their clash against the Bulls on Friday evening.

After the cancellation of the earlier fixture between the Bulls and the Sharks, this match was switched to Durban’s Kings Park.

Bouncing back from defeat

Sharks head coach Sean Everitt has made several changes for this match, bringing in Khutha Mchunu for Lourens Adriaanse at loosehead prop, and back-rowers Dylan Richardson for James Venter and Henco Venter replacing Mpilo Gumede.

There are two changes in the backline, Grant Williams returning in place of Sanele Nohamba who plays off the bench while Lionel Cronje comes in at flyhalf with Curwin Bosch shifting to fullback in place of Anthony Volmink who has been named amongst the reserves.

It has been a shortened week of preparation for the Sharks ahead of their 19:00 kick-off this Friday evening, but a week of hard work as the Durban side look to restore their march on the competition after suffering a road bump last weekend. The Sharks got sucked into Griquas’ negative game plan and couldn’t make the most of the six yellow cards shown to their opponents.

Just eight points now separate the top four sides in the Currie Cup.– The Bulls, Sharks, Griquas and Pumas have created congestion on the log and there will be plenty to play for in round eight of the Cup.

Wins for any of these sides will aid their individual campaigns and put them clear of the chasing pack, consisting of Western Province, the Lions and Cheetahs in fifth, sixth and seventh spots respectively.
