Bulls announce signing of blockbuster World Cup winning Springbok!

The Bulls have continued to splash the cash, with the announcement of Springbok full back Willie le Roux ahead of the new season.

The Bulls have continued to splash the cash, with the announcement of Springbok full back Willie le Roux ahead of the new season.

Le Roux joins a number of new signings that the Bulls have already confirmed ahead of what is set to be yet another bust season.

The signing of Le Roux by the Bulls takes their tally up to 10! As Jake White looks to see his side compete on all fronts next season. The Pretoria-based outfit are set to compete in the United Rugby Championship, European Champions Cup as well as the Currie Cup when the new rugby season kicks off. Last season, they were knocked out in the quarterfinals of all of the above competitions, with the very competitive White, not making his displeasure at that a secret throughout the season.

During that season, the once proud and all conquering Bulls found themselves as a laughing stock of the of the South African rugby fraternity, where they couldn’t buy a win at all in any of the three competitions mentioned above. White has ensured that he won’t have to deal with that type of drought going forward, with the calibre of players that the include Le Roux now being roped in.

Le Roux will bring a wealth of experience to young Bulls backline that has just lost the know how of the recently retired Morne Steyn. Ironically, he is set to play in between his soon to be new teammates Kurt-Lee Arendse and Canan Moodie in the Springbok backline for their Rugby Championship opener against Australia this weekend. 

Three-year deal for Le Roux at the Bulls

Furthermore, the Le Roux will be doing so at what is set to be his new home stadium, Loftus Versfeld. The Bulls confirmed that the veteran star’s contract is a three-year deal at the union and he will join up with his new teammates at the end of what is set to be a very busy international season.
