British & Irish Lions captain Alun Wyn Jones recently revealed his all-time dream pack of forwards, with the Springboks’ greatest enforcer of all time Bakkies Botha making the list.

“He (Botha) revelled in it, didn’t he. Physically he has to be up there,” Jones wrote in his new autobiography, ‘Belonging’ according to the Ruck website.

“Let’s just say he was able to keep the tradition going of the hardest of South African second rows. Bakkies was a big man, and he always hit hard.”

In response, Botha took to social media to say, in part: “Massive privilege to be part of your team, legend, and to play Wales in the Millenium Stadium,” with Bakkies signing off with the tagline from “The real enforcer”.

BAKKIES BOTHA WAS JOINED BY RICHIE MCCAW IN THE LIST

Other forwards to join Botha on the list included former All Blacks captain Richie McCaw and fellow Welshman Sam Warburton, Ken Owens and Taulupe Faletau.

“I’m not comfortable with any of the comparisons with McCaw. He has two World Cups. I don’t. I’ve got those holes in my CV. A legend,” Wyn Jones added.
