Kaizer Chiefs resume their PSL season on Tuesday with a trip across town to Tembisa where they will square up against the newly-promoted Highlands Park at Makhulong Stadium.

With South Africa’s most supported club in town, the venue is already sold out for the encounter, with the host confirming on Monday that there were no more tickets available.

Despite the earlier disappointment of crashing out at the semi-final stage in the MTN8, Amakhosi will have welcomed the break, as it was a similar hiatus that saw them return rejuvenated, putting together three consecutive wins after not being able to register a win in their five matches prior.

Giovanni Solinas’ men are currently third on the table behind Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits, and a win on Tuesday could see them take up a spot at the top of the log.

They are up against a side reeling from their first defeat of the season, after falling to Free State Stars in their last outing, this after kicking off their return to the top flight with four consecutive draws before registering their first win.

After six league matches, the Lions of the North have collected seven points and currently sit ninth on the table.

Highlands Park vs Kaizer Chiefs: Head to head

Highlands Park are back in the PSL after spending just one season in the top flight before being relegated at the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

In the two matches they squared up against Kaizer Chiefs that season, it was the more fancied Soweto outfit that triumphed on both occasions, winning 1-0 away from home before registering the same scoreline on their own turf.
