Wednesday night serves up another batch of PSL fixtures as the new season begins to build a full head of steam.

Tuesday was another night of disappointment for Kaizer Chiefs fans as a resurgent Bidvest Wits gave yet another indication that they may once again be the team to beat after a disappointing title defence last time out. The Students stunned the Glamour Boys as they grabbed an impressive 3-1 win at FNB Stadium to make it two wins in a row early on.

On a night of away wins, the other fixture on the day saw defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns register their first win of the season as they eased past Polokwane City at Peter Mokaba Stadium with a 2-0 victory.

Tonight sees no less than four PSL fixtures on the menu, with one afternoon clash scheduled for Thursday.

Free State Stars vs Maritzburg United – Goble Park

Last season’s surprise packages Free State Stars and Maritzburg United renew their rivalry when they do battle at Goble Park on Wednesday night. Both sides kicked off their 2018/19 campaign on a less than desirable not as they suffered defeat in their respective opening fixtures.

Golden Arrows vs Bloemfontein Celtic – Princess Magogo Stadium

After stunning Maritzburg at Harry Gwala Stadium on Sunday, Golden Arrows have their first home game as they host Bloemfontein Celtic at Princess Magogo Stadium.

Baroka FC vs Cape Town City – Peter Mokaba Stadium

Another side in search of a perfect start to the season is Cape Town City. This time they travel to Polokwane to meet Baroka at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Chippa United vs Orlando Pirates – Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium

After the thrilling six-goal thriller these two sides served up at the same venue last season, Chippa United once again welcomes Orlando Pirates to the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. The Buccaneers kicked off the current season on a disappointing note as a horrid defensive error against Highlands Park pegged them back, forcing them to settle for a share of the spoils in their opener at home.

SuperSport United vs AmaZulu – Lucas Moripe Stadium

Supersport United will look to get past their opening defeat as they host AmaZulu at Lucas Moripe Stadium. Matsatsantsa suffered a 2-0 defeat to Cape Town City over the weekend, while Usuthu will be hoping to make it two wins in two after their home victory against Baroka.
