The Absa Premiership continues on Sunday afternoon as teams resume their pursuit for the high-flying Mamelodi Sundowns.

All four teams in action on the day come off poor results in their previous fixtures and will be desperate to get their respective campaigns back on as it still remains a tight affair in terms of league standings with just 21 points separating second placed Cape Town City from bottom-feeders Bidvest Wits.

Baroka FC v Supersport United, Peter Mokaba Stadium – 15:30

Baroka will hope to bounce back from a heavy defeat suffered in their last outing when they host Supersport United at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

The home team were beaten quite convincingly by Maritzburg United, going down 3-0 at the Harry Gwala Stadium. That result took their tally of goals conceded to nine in their last three games, having only scored two of their own.

Their dream season has turned into a nightmare almost overnight as they have failed to register a win in their last six games, picking up just three points in the process – all through draws.

Supersport on the other hand were stunned by an unfancied Free State Stars side which finished with 10-men in their midweek fixture, after the man who scored the only goal, Patrick Phungwayo was sent off for a reckless challenge.

They have scored a solitary goal in their last three outings, collecting two points in the process and occupy 11th on the log.

Golden Arrows v Maritzburg United, Princess Magogo Stadium– 15:30

The Princess Magogo Stadium has seen a few high-profile clashes lately and sees an encounter that should have its fair share of niggle when Golden Arrows host Maritzburg in a KZN derby on Sunday afternoon.

The visitors had their resurgence disturbed as they went down narrowly to Sundowns on Wednesday, suffering a 1-0 defeat, the same scoreline Sunday’s opponents found themselves on the wrong side off when they hosted the same team in their last outing.
