Orlando Pirates to dispatch misfiring hitman Peprah – Report

The word doing the rounds is that Orlando Pirates are preparing to dispatch misfiring hitman Kwame Peprah to make way for Guy Mbenza.

The latest developments taking place at the Mayfair-based Orlando Pirates are that the club is preparing to dispatch misfiring hitman Kwame Peprah.

Peprah is leaving Pirates and could join an overseas club as he is yet to report for pre-season camp under the watchful eye of coach Jose Riveiro and his technical team.

Local publications report that the striker, Peprah who was on loan at the relegated Maritzburg United is on his way out of the Buccaneers’ camp.

PIRATES TO DISPATCH MISFIRING STRIKER PEPRAH

Since joining the Soweto giants, Pirates in August 2021, the big Ghanaian hitman has failed to find the back of the net on a regular basis and is seen as surplus to requirements.

The 22-year-old arrived at Pirates and made his debut in the Dtv Premiership as a highly-rated finisher considering that he netted 12 goals with as many assists in 32 games in the Ghana Premier League.

However, it seems the reigning MTN8 and Nedbank Cup holders, Pirates are now preparing to part ways with the young former King Faisal forward.

iDiski Times understands Peprah has not returned to the club since they reported back for their medical tests and pre-season preparation and a move abroad seems likely, just months after the club rejected a lucrative offer from Al Ahli Tripoli,” reports iDiski Times.

“There’s been initial interest from the Qatari second tier, Morocco, and Tanzania but his next destination looks likely to take him to Isreal.”

Despite having numerous chances to prove his worth, Peprah failed to rise to the occasion and only managed nine goals out of 39 outings as Pirates went all the way to the final of the CAF Confederation Cup during that season.

PEPRAH TO MAKE WAY FOR GUY MBENZE AT PIRATES?

As also reported by The South African, Pirates are setting their sights on luring a Congolese striker Guy Mbenze.

This comes after Peprah fell down the pecking order since Riveiro’s arrival before making a loan move to Maritzburg.

Regarding Mbenze, this publication posted that the 23-year-old is close to signing on the dotted line with Pirates to bolster their strikeforce.

“Pirates were offered a younger option in Mbenza. And while I am not sure if he has signed yet, Pirates have tabled an offer for him,” says a source close to Phakaaathi.
