Matsatsantsa made the announcement on Friday morning, stating that he has been appointed on a two-year contract.

“Kaitano epitomizes what it means to be a club man,” Supersport United CEO Stanley Matthews said.
“He joined us as a player 19 years ago and has worked his way through our youth structures and subsequently into the first team as an assistant.
“He has steered us on a caretaker basis on three separate occasions and everyone at the Club is committed to reciprocating his loyalty and his desire to win silverware”.

Kaitano Tembo took over the club on the verge of relegation last season and managed to stir his charges to safety as they managed to finish on the top half of the table – albeit with some extra help from Ajax Cape Town whose relegation saw the Pretoria outfit earn some much-needed extra points.

The 48-year-old was delighted at being handed the opportunity;

“ I’m honoured by the confidence the club has shown in me in giving me this great opportunity. This club has been the center of my life for almost 20 years and I and my players will give everything we have to keep our run of success going”.

Supersport United open their PSL campaign tomorrow when they play away to Cape Town City.
