The now 75-year-old – in the most Donald Trump fashion possible – issued a statement detailing the ace on the 181-yard 7th hole at his Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach.

Trump, who served as the 45th US President from 2017 to 2021, said he was playing with professional golfers Ernie Els, Gene Sauers, Ken Duke and Mike Goodes when he made the shot.

“Many people are asking, so I’ll give it to you now, it is 100 percent true,” Trump said of the hole-in-one, without specifying when it occurred (confirmed by Ernie Els to have been last Saturday).

“I hit a 5-iron, which sailed magnificently into a rather strong wind, with approximately 5 feet of cut, whereupon it bounced twice and then went clank, into the hole.

“These great tour players noticed it before I did because their eyes are slightly better, but on that one hole only, their swings weren’t.

“I won’t tell you who won because I am a very modest individual, and you will then say I was bragging – and I don’t like people who brag!” Donald Trump said.

Trump’s spokesperson Taylor Budowich tweeted a video that didn’t capture the shot itself, but did show Trump retrieving the ball from the hole and being congratulated by his playing partners.

Donald Trump played 150 rounds while in office

In his years in office, Trump visited golf courses an estimated 298 times according to the TrumpGolfCount website which tracked his outings.

During those visits he played at least 150 rounds.

Tim Swain, a Republican running for Senate in South Carolina, posted a photo (above) of Trump and his playing partners who held up one finger depicting the hole-in-one.

“Trump just made a hole-in-one!” Swain wrote in all caps.

South Africa’s Ernie Els is a four-time Major winner having triumphed at the 1994 and 1997 US Opens and the 2002 and 2012 Open Championship.

At 52, he now competes on the PGA Tour Champions.

While many on social media questioned Trump’s claim of the perfect fluke, Els himself tweeted: “Great shot on Saturday 45! Fun to watch the ball roll in for a hole-in-one.”
