With the Rugby World Cup currently also taking place, and not particularly high expectations following the Proteas, there has not been much of a noticeable buzz about the Cricket World Cup as yet.

However it shouldn’t be forgotten that the cricket showpiece began this week, while the Proteas will open their campaign against Sri Lanka on Saturday in what is a crucial clash before then facing rivals Australia.

Saturday’s clash gets under way from 10.30am (SA time).

  • 10 November: Afghanistan, Ahmedabad

At the World Cup, each team plays the other nine in a round-robin format. The top four qualify for the knockout stage and semi-finals.
