The Proteas took to the field on Day 2 of their Test against Sri Lanka in Centurion wearing black armbands in memory of former England seamer and commentator, Robin Jackman.

There had been some unhappiness as to why the team didn’t wear similar armbands on Boxing Day’s Day 1 after Jackman passed away on Christmas day.
Judging from the picture below, all it takes to wear a black armband is a piece of common black tape.
Robin Jackman became a household name for all who loved and followed cricket with his astute commentary for SuperSport, something sadly lacking in this day and age.
Jackman was 75.

In a CSA statement on Saturday, the organisation “mourned the loss of a fine man, a lover of life, a cricket aficionado and a commentator who became part of the fabric of South African cricket in so many ways.”
