Legendary South African cricketer Herschelle Gibbs celebrates his 50th birthday today, 23 February. In celebration, here are some of the records he smashed.

Herschelle Gibbs lived up to the expectations of the masses by smashing records left, right and centre on the cricket field, making Jim one of South Africa’s most beloved cricketers ever.
And on this day in 1974, Gibbs was born; meaning he celebrates his 50th birthday today. In celebration of Herschelle Gibbs day, let’s take a look at some of the stats, facts and records of his career.

Herschelle Gibbs played 90 Tests, 248 ODIs and 23 T20I for South Africa, scoring 6 167, 8 094 and 400 runs, respectively. He also took 210 catches in all three formats and effected countless run-outs.
