“The Proteas lose to India. Not the result we had hoped for but we still march to the semis,” they said on their timelines. Minister of Sport, Arts, and Culture, Zizi Kodwa previously urged South Africans to stand by the Proteas by sharing the same hype which was expressed towards the Springboks in their 2023 Rugby World Cup tournaments.

“The Bokke (Springboks) have inspired South Africans and people from all over the world. Let us continue this spirit and support the Proteas Men CSA who are continuing their march in the Cricket World Cup,” Kodwa said.

“This wasn’t gonna be an easy match 😕 🙆‍♂️😢 India has always been our biggest problem. I hope we can have a better strategy for the semis because chances are that we might meet each other again in the finals 🙆‍♂️,” @tshepo_maphepha wrote.

“I don’t mind the loss, India is on point and home ground advantage but It’s a humiliation the way the Proteas played. The fielding Ohhhh Gawd, I don’t even want to talk about batting, it was like a brown envelope went under the table, it’s like history repeating itself 🤦‍♂️,”@ BeeCeeForty5 said.

“I can’t believe it; the performance of the South African team was truly disappointing,” @warsiking commented.
